The Howard is a multi-family project located in the Olde Kensington area of Philadelphia. The location being a half-block from the Market Frankford line makes it an easy commute into Center City. The neighborhood itself is active; having a recreation centers, grocery stores, coffee shops and restaurants all within walking distance.
The new construction is set to be a six story mixed-use building with 45 one and two bedroom apartment units as well as artists' studio space on the ground floor. Through careful detailing and project management it is critical that our projects be built as intended, meeting design intent at every possible level, and delivered on-time and on-budget. We work hard to understand out client's needs and communicate well with them throughout the design process so that was have a shared understanding of the details of the project being delivered.
Situating itself on a block of warehouses, many of which have also been repurposed for artist studios and apartments, this design is respectful of its history while reflecting the same language as its context. The building takes on the site's material language and plays subtly with form. The break in the line of the building is a simple yet efficient way to differentiate The Howard from the rest of the block.
